Simplify Exporting with parameters

Would it be possible to have a front-end build for data Imports and Extracts where company Admins/Teams leaders can set up the relevant Data import/Extract documents with all the relevant settings for the report and a general user could have access to pull off the report but not change any of the core settings. This could be accomplished by using something like the stock take templates, where the extract is linked to a form with fields on screen linked directly to search criteria via parameters.

An Example of this would be supplier price increase. Our team has multiple people who help with supplier price increases at varying skill levels, the report is always the same, but users have inadvertently changed settings or accidently removed key conditions while extracting a supplier list of products.
At its most basic level It would be far simpler if when they could just execute the report, they were presented with a parameter box to fill in the relevant parameters like in the reporting suite.

At a more advanced level if you wanted to go all out allow us a separate part of the system, where templates and custom screen designs could be done for each report removing the need for basic users to ever need access to the import/export and allowing for new criteria to be added to the report by adding the element to the screen design.

Thanks

Hi, if you have access to Nexus (or agility) you can achieve this. If not then your iQ contact should be able to.

    What I’ve done:
    * Create a new boolean property on the exports called ‘All Users’
    * Created a ‘My Exports’ ribbon item to only show Export templates created by the current user or export templates marked as ‘All Users
    * Change permissions to take away all but the execute option from general users.

This allows you to setup a template with a condition etc, then tick for all users. The users can then go to their ‘My Exports’ view to execute them (but not edit).

You can go a set further and allow some trusted super users to be able to create their own exports (allow the add and edit in permissions). Their exports are then kept tidied out of view of everyone else as it only shows their own and shared.

    Hope that makes sense/helps.
