We often have the issue where Customers, Prospects and Leads are setup and there is already an existing one.
This creates lots of duplication issues and hassle to put right. In a perfect world, people would check throughly of course.
IQ should have better features around this where when you are typing in the name on the Customers, Prospects and Lead, predictive search would show simialr (this could be very similar to how instant search works, except it would only search Customers, Prospects and Lead).
Another idea would be when the same phone number or domain name is used in the email address, a warning would appear.
“Note you already have Prospect XYZ using this domain name – are you sure you want to create this Customer?” etc.
We’re looking to create a plugin to achieve something similar. Will try and remember to update this thread when it’s done.
Idea is that when you go to create a new customer, prospect or lead, it’ll have an initial screen for populating basic contact details to try and find an existing match. If for example you are trying to create a customer, and there’s an existing lead that is a match, it’ll give you the option to qualify the lead through to a customer that you can then continue to populate the remaining customer details.
